Most cruise lines offer various food options, including buffet-style meals, specialty restaurants, and casual eateries. Some ships even serve fresh sushi. Many cruises offer special events such as wine tastings, cooking classes, and themed dinners.

After a long day of exploring new sights, passengers can relax and unwind, taking advantage of spa treatments, massage therapy, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, fitness centers, and jogging trails. There are also lounges, bars, and nightclubs aboard some cruise ships.

Many cruise lines encourage social interaction among passengers. Many cruise lines offer onboard activities such as trivia and game nights, dance parties, karaoke contests, and poker tournaments. Guests can participate in these activities together, meeting new people.
